Springboro Robotics is interested in growing the base of FIRST robotics teams in Warren county, Ohio. Although there are about 700 FIRST teams in the state of Ohio, Springboro is one of the few communities in Warren county, Ohio with a FIRST team. If you are interested in starting a robotics team in your community, contact us at info@borobots.org.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Springboro Robotics is primarily active during the school year (especially August through February), but we have many "off season" activities too. Look for us at one of the events below:
Dayton FLL District - Feb 2026
This event is a second tier tournament for teams that are top performers at their FIRST LEGO League regional qualifier. All are welcome to attend this event on Saturday, Feb 7, 2026 at Fairborn Intermediate School (1020 S. Maple Ave, Fairborn, OH 45324) from 9am to 4pm.
FLL State Championship – Mar 15, 2026
The top 50 FIRST LEGO League teams from all over Ohio are invited to compete against each other to determine which Ohio teams will be invited to attend the FLL World Festival and other domestic and international tournaments. This all day event takes place at Hobart Arena in Troy, OH on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
Open House – Feb thru May 2026
Kids (and adults) of all ages are invited to come check out our robotics labs. See demonstrations and drive a robot! Students in grades 7 and up are invited to join our FTC team on a trial basis at no cost.
STEMfest! – March 23, 2026
Check out our demos & displays in the Springboro High School gymnasium from 5:30 - 8:00pm. We will be showcasing all of our robotics offerings (FTC, FLL Challenge, and FLL Explore) for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Miami Valley Regional – Apr 2-4, 2026
Xavier University will host the only FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) tournament in Southwest Ohio. This is an incredibly spectacular 3 day robotics event in a sporting arena (Cintas Center). Be sure not to miss it on April 2, 3, and 4, 2026.
Registration Period – Apr 1 - May 22, '26
Applications for the 2026-2027 season will be accepted beginning April 1st. Applications are due to Springboro Robotics by May 22, 2026. DO NOT DELAY! Get your application in early to increase your chances of getting on a team and to avoid the possibility of being locked out.
FLL World Festival – Apr 29,- May 2, '26
The 2026 FIRST World Festival showcases the best FLL, FTC, and FRC teams from all around the world. This event takes place in Houston, TX at the George R. Brown Convention Center on April 29 through May 2, 2026. It features 160 FLL Challenge teams and 40 FLL Explore teams from all around the world. Additionally, volunteers from Ohio FIRST Lego League Challenge & FIRST Lego League Explore programs will be in attendance.
FLL Challenge Release – Aug 2026
The 2026/2027 FIRST LEGO League Challenge will be revealed in early August 2026. Meet with us on Thursday, August 14th at 7pm in the Springboro Intermediate School Multipurpose Room to learn more. All teams, parents, and siblings are welcome.
Springboro FLL Regional – Nov ' 26 TBD
This is one of Springboro Robotics' premier events. The Springboro FLL Challenge Regional Tournament features 12 teams of 9-14 year olds from around Southwest Ohio. Come watch, learn, and cheer on your favorite team. This event is FREE and open to the public. The action runs from 10am to 4:30pm at Springboro Intermediate School (705 South Main St, Springboro, OH).
FLL Regional Qualifiers – Nov & Dec
Come cheer on Springboro Robotics' FIRST LEGO League teams at one of the Dayton or Cincinnati regional qualifying tournaments which may be held at the following venues: Springboro, Xenia, Beavercreek, University of Dayton, WPAFB, iSPACE, Lakota, Loveland, Ross (Hamilton), Sycamore, Yellow Springs, Fairborn, and the US Air Force Museum.
